Live camera Coburg, Germany
Despite the fact that the hometown of the famous Sachsen-Coburg dynasty is home to just over forty thousand people, it boasts a huge number of attractions. For four centuries, members of the family built intrigues and alliances with representatives of the royal families of Britain, Russia, Belgium and Sweden. A major achievement was the marriage in 1857 of Albert Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Queen Victoria, which marked the beginning of Britain's reigning royal family to this day.
During World War I, the monarchs took the "less German" surname Windsor. Coburg Fortress is considered one of the most beautiful medieval buildings in all of Germany. The world famous hot dog - a sausage in a pastry with sauce - is believed to be an invention of the region's culinary artisans.
