Alderley Edge is located 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Macclesfield and 12 miles (19 km) south of Manchester, at the foot of the steep and densely forested sandstone escarpment, Alderley Edge, which is the main topographic feature of the area and overlooks the Cheshire Plain.

Alderley Edge is known for its wealth and expensive homes located within the 289 Cheshire Golden Triangle. Alderley Edge has a variety of cafes and designer shops that have attracted a host of Premier League footballers, actors and multimillionaire businessmen.
